William (Bill) Bowman is a 26-year veteran of the industry, a highly credentialed professional and an active member of the community of Oshkosh. As a Certified Public Accountant, Bill’s accounting expertise has led the AEGIS team to specialize in a tax-efficient approach to wealth management.
Bill came to the practice in 2011. Since that time, he has built up a team of experienced, specialized professionals, developed a personalized process for tax-efficient wealth planning, and instilled the name AEGIS Financial, to signify the team’s commitment to supporting clients and preserving their wealth.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, as well as a number of financial licenses and credentials. He also holds several roles in the community of Oshkosh, including:
Bill lives in Oshkosh with his wife, Shawnee, and their three children, Alyssa, Austin and Mikayla. They also have three grandchildren, and enjoy spending time with family at their cabin in Mountain.
From the perspective of 10+ years as an investment and insurance advisor, Michael supports all aspects of the client experience at AEGIS. He designs each client’s personalized plans and strategies with a proactive commitment to their personal goals and specialized expertise in insurance strategy and risk management.
Michael and his wife Susan live in Appleton with their four young children, Hazel, Elias, Isaiah and Ada. Michael volunteers his time to their church, as well as Habitat for Humanity, Greater Fox Cities Area. He is also involved in Leadership Oshkosh and Oshkosh West Side Association.
After nearly 10 years in the engineering field, Brian joined AEGIS Financial in 2017 as a Client Service Associate. In 2018, he acquired securities registrations, insurance licenses and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation and is currently enrolled in the Advisory Mastery Program through Raymond James. Brian’s detail-oriented personality made him a great fit to create individual Financial Life Plans for clients, and so he supported the team as Associated Advisor in this capacity until he was promoted to Advisor at the end of 2018.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin Platteville, and also holds the Series 7, 66 and Wisconsin Life and Health Insurance license.
Brian lives in Omro with his wife Laura and their children, Emma and Charles. He enjoys biking, hunting, playing soccer and coaching his children’s sports teams. Brian is also a board member for his church.
Mike joined AEGIS Financial in 2018 as a Client Service Associate II. He brings 15 years of financial services experience to the firm. Mike enjoys helping individuals and families plan for and achieve their personal financial goals for education, retirement and philanthropy. Mike was promoted to Financial Advisor in September 2019.
Mike has a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from Marquette University and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from UW-Madison. He also holds the Series 6, 7, 24, & 63 securities licenses.
Mike lives in Oshkosh with his wife Jenni and their three children, Jaxson, Will and Lila. Outside of work he keeps busy attending his kids’ sports and theater events. He also enjoys golfing, traveling, reading and following Wisconsin sports teams. Mike is active in his children’s youth sports organizations and his church.
Nathan Schleicher is a Certified 401(k) Professional by The Retirement Advisor University in collaboration with UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Education.
The C(k)P® Certified 401(k) Professional Designation represents the pinnacle of achievement for the professional Retirement Plan Advisor, recognizing a combination of substantial practical retirement plan management experience, and the completion of a comprehensive and highly specialized educational program. To earn the right to use the C(k)P® designation requires more than just academic aptitude. A financial professional must have demonstrated real world application of the core competencies taught in the classroom.
Since 2005, Nathan has dedicated his career specializing in 401(k)’s and other qualified retirement plans. His main focus is on advising corporations and executives on how to conduct fiduciary best practices for their retirement plans. This includes assistance with investment due diligence, plan compliance, and implementing and monitoring successful retirement plans.
Nathan has helped build a successful 401(k) advisory consulting practice by providing corporations with proven strategies that have resulted in improved outcomes for participants and reduced liability for employers.
As a plan sponsor and participant advocate, Nathan’s expertise in vendor negotiations has resulted in lowering total plan and administrative costs for plans of all sizes. Nathan’s interest in behavioral finance has helped plan sponsors understand how plan design can dramatically improve their employees’ ability to successfully retire.
Nathan attended Appleton West High School and then majored in Finance with an emphasis on Investment Management as an undergraduate and earned his B.S. from Ferris State University in Michigan.
Nathan lives in Appleton with his wife, Erin and outside of work he keeps busy with golfing, martial arts, drumming, traveling and following Wisconsin sports teams.
Kristie brings the knowledge and insight of 25+ years of experience to the AEGIS team, which is integral to the premium client experience enjoyed by our clients on a daily basis.
Responsible for the compliance and day-to-day operation of the office, Kristie first began working with Bill Bowman in 2003 and joined AEGIS Financial in 2011. She holds a number of insurance and securities licenses, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin. She is also a member of Professional Women’s Connection.
Kristie loves to travel with her two daughters, Taylor and MacKenzie. As time allows, she enjoys hiking, bow hunting, roller skating, scrapbooking, attending concerts and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
Chris has been providing administrative and client service support for over 25 years, which is evident in the proactive support she delivers to all AEGIS clients. She is responsible for maintaining the practice’s high standards of communication and accountability.
Chris is also a Notary Public for the State of Wisconsin and a member of Professional Women’s Connection. She holds an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin, has her life insurance license and has completed her Security Industry Essentials (SIE) exam.
She and her husband Kevin have three children and two grandchildren. They live in Fond du Lac, where they own a business called Street Pedalers. When Chris is not working at AEGIS Financial, you may see her driving around Fond Du Lac in one of their pedicabs. She also enjoys reading and spending time with family.
Mariah is responsible for participating in client meetings, transcribing notes for the meetings, processing all the necessary paperwork to maintain client accounts and providing exceptional customer service of all investment accounts.
Mariah studied Hotel & Hospitality at Moraine Park Technical College before spending three years in the hospitality industry, and another two years in administrative roles. She is a member of Propel Oshkosh Young Professionals and attends many of the Oshkosh Chamber events. She also enjoys staying active and spending time with her family. Mariah lives with her husband Jason in Neenah.
Alyssa joins the team part time as a Client Service Associate to work in specialty areas within the team such as onboarding new clients or assisting those widowed clients with the processing of paperwork due to the passing of their loved one. She has held administrative roles for seven years in financial and non-profit industries, most recently working as an Executive Assistant in a large Chicago based organization.
Alyssa (Bill Bowman’s eldest daughter) and her husband Ben recently moved back to the area with their three young sons-Zarin, Ezra and Levi. When she gets a break from kid chaos, you can find her grabbing coffee with a friend, redecorating her house, or participating in church ministries.
Julie serves as the primary liaison between the advisor, the client and the custodian of our clients’ assets, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. Also core to Julie’s responsibilities is her representation of many internal projects, compliance, and ongoing commitment to process improvement. Her warm and enthusiastic personality, along with her attention to detail, systematic approach, and respect for confidentiality are just a few of the many valuable qualities she brings to her work.
Julie has been in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. For the first four years her focus was on banking, and for the last few years she has devoted her talents to investments.
Julie resides in Menasha with her significant other, Pete, and their Border Collie, Tucker. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking, biking, going up north to her cabin, and spending time with friends and family.
In 2020, Jack joined AEGIS Financial as a student intern majoring in Finance and Information Systems at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He supports the team as a Client Service Intern working on special projects, helping to prepare and process paperwork for clients, maintaining our client management system and branch files, and will be mentoring with our Financial Advisors and Client Service Associates.
In 2020, Courtney joined AEGIS Financial as the Client Experience Concierge. She performs a varying multitude of client services and provides internal office support. She is the initial point of contact for clients or professional partners of AEGIS Financial.
Courtney graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in Spring 2020 with two bachelor’s degrees in Arts Management and Communications with an emphasis in Media Studies. She has interned at Woodlands Church in Stevens Point and at Milwaukee Repertory theater.
Courtney loves to spend quality time with family and friends. As time allows, she enjoys reading, writing, going to plays or musicals, water skiing, spending time in the outdoors, and meeting new people.
Mark Oswald has more than 30 years of experience in the industry helping to build and grow successful financial services companies. At AEGIS Financial, Mark is responsible for the continuing development of all aspects of the firm to ensure that the company meets its fiduciary obligations to serve its clients.
Prior to joining AEGIS Financial, Mr. Oswald served as the Chief Compliance & Operations Officer at Annex Wealth Management. He has served in similar roles with SII Investments, The Principal Financial Group, and Robert W. Baird.
Mark attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and has achieved industry qualifications of General Securities Representative (Series-7), NYSE General Securities Sales Supervisor (Series-8), NASD General Securities Principal (Series-24), Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series-63) and Uniform Investment Advisor Law (Series-65).
Mark lives in Oconomowoc with his wife, Erica. They have three adult children, Mark Jacob, Andrew, and Megan. He enjoys golfing, boating, and traveling.
In 2021, Angie joined AEGIS Financial as a Client Service Associate. She performs a varying multitude of client services, provides internal office support, is an initial point of contact for the clients of AEGIS Financial, and acts a liaison with the team and our custodian, Raymond James.
Angie has a strong background in the financial services industry. Previous to her current role, she worked at a bank for many years, as a teller and behind the scenes in the depository account area.
If you notice a little accent, you are correct. Angie was born and raised in West Virginia, and she still has family there. In Angie’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 32 years, her four children and two grandchildren (and two grand-puppies). She also enjoys being involved with her church, completing small knitting projects, meeting people and baking Christmas cookies!
Bo joined AEGIS Financial in January 2021 as a Client Service Intern. He provides a varying multitude of client services and offers internal office support. He is the initial point of contact for the clients of AEGIS Financial and acts a liaison with the team and our custodian, Raymond James. He works on special projects, as well as helps prepare and process paperwork for clients. He is receiving mentorship from the skilled and fully certified advisors and client service associates at AEGIS. He strives to exceed client expectations by providing exceptional service.
Bo is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He will be graduating in fall 2021 with a degree in Finance with an emphasis in sales. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends on Lake Poygan in the summer, and snowboarding in the winter. He also enjoys hunting, golfing, and watching sports.
In 2021, Tom joined AEGIS Financial as an Associate Relationship Manager. Tom’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and processing documents for client-advisor relationships, attending client meetings, and handling compliance paperwork. He is also receiving mentorship from the skilled and fully certified advisors at AEGIS. He is a senior Finance major and Insurance & Risk Management minor at UW-Oshkosh, graduating spring 2021.
In Tom’s free time he loves being active with tennis, golf, and lifting. Other hobbies of Tom’s include music and spending time with family and friends whenever possible.
Matt, after leaving a successful career with two different Fortune 500 companies, joined AEGIS as a Wealth Manager in 2021 to pursue his passion of helping people succeed with personal finance, building wealth and creating a legacy. Matt loves building strong relationships with clients that focus on trust, respect and education. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Saint Norbert College. He is currently enrolled in Raymond James’ Advisory Mastery Program, is working toward his Series 65 licensing and will be pursuing his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.
Matt lives in Greenville with his wife, Britney, and their two children, Will and Everly. He is an avid outdoorsman, loves sports, enjoys spending quality time with his family, and looks forward to date nights with his wife. He also enjoys spending some of his free time improving wildlife habitat by planting trees and creating sustainable food and water sources. Matt is an active member of his church and currently serves on the Leadership Committee for Men’s Ministry. He leads both a men’s small-group and a mini-church group with his wife.
